How to Start Selling Candles From Home
How to start selling candles from home begins with a review of the many methods that exist to selling candles. You can make money selling candles once you learn how. A low cost business to start and grow up to a full time income if you want and it all starts from your kitchen table.
I have reviewed a candle making ebook called The Secrets To Successful Candle Making by Sarah Johnstan. A successful candle maker who has built a full time income selling candles. Sarah has learned from trial and error how to be a success selling candles over the years. Learn and not make the same mistakes and get into profit quickly.
Sarahs' book is one resource in one place that will show you how, step by step how to make candles, all types from gel, soy and bees wax candles, where to get the best price on candle making supplies, resources galore. How to sell your candles, where and how to get customers. Sell on the internet. A free E book is included that shows you how to sell on E Bay. Sarahs book is a series of books and is worth a lot more then what she is asking. If you had to learn all of this on your own you still wouldn't come close to what this offers you.
This book is no flub, it is one of the best resources to learn how to start a candle making business and if you don't agree Sarah offers a 100% money back gaurantee. You have to give a little but your going to get a lot back. Yes you can find free information on the web. Problem is you will spend many frustrating hours looking, a bit from here and there that leaves you confused with not enough accurate information to connect the dots. Spend $37 on your future and begin right.
Become A Distributor
Selling candles from home. Join a company as a distributor and sell already made candles. You will have to purchase a kit and stock candles. Expect to pay $200 plus in start up costs. In addition most if not all require you join an autoship program with the minimum monthly order of at least $40. This is a requirement to qualify for commissions and receive any sponsored distributor commissions.
Good for the company bad for you. This a forced qualification, and just about every MLM company has them, some far worse than others with very high autoship costs. Most if not all, depend on the autoship program to stay in business.
MLM gives you the advantage to recruit others. Will this work? In my opinion recruiting is only realistic if you are an outgoing people related person, are comfortable approaching people and can accept rejection with the word "no". Most people are not comfortable approaching others which is why downlines are hard to develop and keep.
You rely on your organization for income but what would happen if the company dissapeared tomorrow? Distributor downlines are not noted for longevity and in my opinion it is not a place for long term stability. Personally I would not rely on others for my income as you have no control over the outcome.
As a retail distributor it can give you a part time income if you agree to the autoship program. Is it worth it? Not in my opinion, steer your own ship. If you want to be a distributor buy wholesale and sell retail, that way you are in full control of your candle home business.
Simple Is Simple Does
Here is a little plan on how to start selling candles from home. It won't make you a lot of money but you can start right in your own neighborhood just by simply talking and "show and tell". Talk to friends, tell them about your business give them some flyers that you have made yourself showing the different types of candles. That will get you started. If you have a high quality unique candle line and you have sold a few and you have made a good impression of you and your candles with a little luck you create a buzz through word of mouth. See candle home business on the home page for more ideas.
Candle Parties-- Charities-- Craft Fairs-- Festivals
If you are connected with groups and know a lot of people you can offer "home candle parties" where you show the many different candles from themes like Christmas and valentines day and candles for special occasions.
Work with local charities and service groups. You give a part of the profits. Volunteer and work with the charity. If it is an event set up and work a table yourself on their behalf. This gives you the opportunity to build a customer list and develop more word of mouth "after the sale". You can have clients who you may never get to sell to otherwise, plus help a noble cause.
Craft fairs and local festivals that you can set up your own display table. This can be a good platform depending upon the response, don't waste your time on low volume attendance events. Even a small one can cost you fifty dollars or more to set up. If you are going to do that make sure it is worth the effort. To learn how to sell candles save yourself a lot of hassles and get The Secrets To Successful Candle Making for a $37 investment you will be paid back many, many times.
